Dear Colleague,
On behalf of the Upstate New York chapter of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine, we would like take this opportunity to invite you to consider membership to our chapter. Our chapter conducts two meetings annually
(spring & fall), which feature scientific and professional symposia with
proffered and invited talks. The fall meeting also includes an
annual Recognition Lecture where we host a guest speaker who has made
commendable contributions to the Medical Physics Field. We offer Continuing Education credits for Medical Physicists at each of our meetings. Meetings are generally held in May and October of each calendar year. There is no cost for members to attend our meetings. All meetings include lunch and/or dinner and are in an easily accessible location.
Our chapter territory currently includes membership in Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Albany and their vicinities
(essentially all of the New York State except for Metropolitan New York
City). The chapter dues are $20.00 annually for full members. This fee is waived for the first year of membership for all of our new members. For junior members, e.g. students, there is no membership fee, but we do require that two full members sponsor the junior member using the enclosed form.
In closing, we hope you consider membership to our chapter. Please contact Ken Hoffmann, Chapter Secretary [kh9@acsu.buffalo.edu, (716) 829-3595] or myself [Daniel
Kim, (315) 829-3595] should you have any questions pertaining to this chapter. We look forward to hearing form you soon.
Sincerely,
Steven de Boer, MSc, DABR President – Upstate New York Chapter
